CNC Stomp Pad 9 | Drill Holes | CNC Learning Videos | CNC
In this video we drill the holes in our CNC Stomp Pad. We need to add the traction spikes and they are really a screw and nut. We drill the holes then clean them out. We bend the stomp pad while drilling and we must hammer it flat next. A quick DA Sanding to make the pad look good, then we are on the the next step which is finalizing the CNC stomp pad. www.cncinformation.com

@psfree40b I’d have to agree with your advice, i always take plywood scraps from the crating area to drill through thin stuff
Wow, learn CNC with a manual drill press. 5 stars!
Hello EddieRosa,
Since I have never built this item, I didn’t know which spikes I was going to use or their spacing. It was really a guess where they were going to go. I agree it would be easier to do the holes with plasma. If I ever did another one, I would probably add it to the file.
Thanks for the feedback,
Ivan
Whi you not use the plasma cut out the holes, it’s more easy… …instead of a drill press
Cool…Thanks for the tip. I will try it next time.

When drilling though thin metal, try laying it on a short plank of wood. As you drill though the drill goes into the wood. The wood supports the metal and stops it bending. The burr on the back can be the last bit of metal being pushed though without cutting. The wood will help here too.
